About Haputale
Haputale is a serene hill town perched on the southern edge of the central highlands, sitting on a narrow ridge with spectacular views dropping away on both sides. On clear days, you can see from the hill country all the way to the southern coast. The town is famous for Lipton's Seat, a breathtaking viewpoint at the top of the Dambatenne Tea Estate, where Sir Thomas Lipton himself would sit to survey his tea empire. The journey to Lipton's Seat winds through beautiful tea plantations and offers some of the most stunning vistas in Sri Lanka. Nearby Adisham Bungalow, a Benedictine monastery, is another popular attraction.
